Duromina lot #2 represents the work of 400 smallholder farmers in one of the oldest, if not the oldest, coffee producing regions in the world. The Oromo people who produce this coffee are said to have been the first people to grow coffee and consume it as both a plant, berry and beverage. The Duromina washing station that processes this coffee and lends it its name lies within the Gomma woreda (district) within the Agaro region of western Ethiopia. Our importing partner Red Fox has been working with this community of farmers since 2009 and proudly considers the coffee producers in Agaro to be one of its oldest partners in the world.
